The Rotary Club of Brightlingsea & District works in partnership with a variety of local charities and community organisations who support the fundraising collections by providing a teams of collectors for the door-to-door street collections. The collection each night is shared 50/50 with our collecting partner.
Our collecting partner organisations are:
4-Youth – based in Tower Street 4-Youth helps young people to reach their potential and to obtain social and life skills through music, sport & social events.
Brightlingsea-In-Bloom – the Bloomers are a volunteer group who do an amazing job of creating and maintaining spectacular floral displays around Brightlingsea.
St Helena Hospice – help local people face incurable illness and bereavement, supporting them and their families, friends and carers. They also support children and adults who are facing bereavement.
Ladybirds PreSchool Thorrington – Children learn and develop individually in a safe, stimulating and enjoyable environment. Close links to Great Bentley and Brightlingsea Primary schools.
Wivenhoe Scouts & Guides – made up of the 12 Scouting & Guiding units which exist in Wivenhoe. These units have a membership of over 220 young people and more than 30 adult leaders and helpers.
Alresford PreSchool – offers a safe, friendly, supportive stimulating and natural environment to enhance the abilities and skills of the whole child. Working in partnership with families and the community.
Alresford Primary School – is a caring community where individual needs are recognised and supported and where we ensure that all children are given a wide range of experiences in a safe and secure environment. Every opportunity is given to children to enable them to achieve success and fulfil their potential. Every member of our community is valued and respected.
Gt Bently Primary School – is a hub of exciting learning and opportunity for all. Their core values are courage, open-mindedness, nurture, endeavour, communications and teamwork. Their philosophy is “working together to make a difference”.
Porridge & Pens – Brightlingsea based charity Porridge & Pens works with some of the poorest children in Kumasi, which lies in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. They provide ongoing grants and support to schools, orphanages, families and individuals in the region. They believe every child should have the opportunity to reach their full potential by having food to eat and a place to learn. They make measurable differences to over 200 young lives every day through their Fruit Feeding drop, Girl Power Grants and the Brightlingsea Child Care Centre.
Brightlingsea Lido – Brightlingsea Community Lido is a classic 1930s open air swimming pool right on the coast at Brightlingsea, Essex. Run by a fantastic group of volunteers for the benefit of our community, it is the place for a few hours of family fun or a regular fitness session.
